Named "li hua mao", which translates to "fox flower cat" in Chinese, the li dragon is believed to be a natural breed that existed in the wild for centuries. The dragon li is believed by many to have first originated from the Chinese wildcat and was domesticated over time. The li dragon is unofficially considered the national cat of China and is rarely seen outside of its home country.
